I’m happy to present you with my most complete photo archive of Goyang. Goyang is a city located northwest of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. This photo archive details my photography journey documenting Goyang from when I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014, until 2023, when I moved back to Ontario, Canada.

Snow Hill in Goyang (March 2016)
In March 2016, we took a family day to a local snow hill to go tubing. But I didn’t miss the chance to take some photographs here and there. This Korean family was having an amazing time, and I couldn’t help but enjoy observing and capturing the moment.
Documenting a Small Town in Goyang (February 2016)
In February 2016, I set out on a special mission. I took a good long walk exploring all the streets in and out of a small town in Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea. I enjoyed doing this. I spent several hours exploring and trying to document the town. I feel it was near the time I began to get into ‘street photography’, however, I’m now seeing the work as closer to documentary photography, especially the way I approached my doing it.
I spent the time documenting more than just special moments of the town, rather, I began trying to document the essence of the town. From this point forward, I did do a lot of street photography, but later much of my work included documenting! It was interesting to reflect on the images of this day. I detail some more thoughts about some of these images in my photo journal.
Evening Concert in Goyang Park (September 2014)
Close to when I first bought a DSLR camera, I was living in Goyang, South Korea. Close to where I used to live they were having a local small-town concert at a nearby park. I went out and took a few images using my camera and on-camera flash. The photographs are not the best quality or otherwise, but they are some of my earliest images of Goyang.
